Overview

FifthColor is looking for a Print Production Specialist  to join our growing team.

We’re looking for a candidate who is dependable, likes to apply their knowledge to new and different things, has an eye for detail, and maintains high-quality standards. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in printing. As a Print Production Specialist, you will oversee the setup and operation of various printing presses that meet production/customer specifications to produce quality printed products for world-class brands like the USGA, PGA, Champs, Puma, Reebok, Barstool Sports, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing job orders to make the right adjustments to the printing machine.
  • Installing parts and supplies such as ink rollers and printing plates according to the job specifications and blueprints.
  • Testing inks on the printing surface to determine suitability.
  • Handling production of the printed materials, including the printing and racking process, to ensure it meets the specifications and is ready on schedule.
  • Monitor jobs and prioritize according to the job specification sheet or based on our ERP system.
  • Understanding impositions for a sheetfed, web offset, or digital press.
  • The ability to quality control print files and print jobs to ensure that they are set up efficiently for the press and will meet customers’ expectations.
  • Record accurate entries of time and materials used for job costing.
  • Performing maintenance tasks on the printing machine.
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues such as creaking noises, etc.
  • Cleaning the printing press and peripherals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of UV Printing.
  • Basic understanding of printing color theory.
  • Should have a strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Good organizational work habits.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and pressure situations.
  • Reliable team member.

Physical Requirements

  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Requires excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to communicate well with others.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
